About Dr. Kim

Dr Kim believes that the dental health is an integral part of overall health and excellent care involves looking at the patient as a whole, not just one tooth. This philosophy stems from Dr Kim’s 10 years of previous journey as a general dentist.

Dr Kim attained her degree in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago, Dunedin in 2002. In 2010, she returned back to New Zealand to pursue her passion for endodontics. This led to a specialist degree in Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics. Her thesis was on the use of magnification in apical surgery and her research led to presentations in the United States of America and Fiji. Dr Kim has also published numerous articles in both international and New Zealand endodontic journals. Her latest contribution to the endodontic literature is as follows:

Kim YJA, Chandler NP (2013) Determination of working length for teeth with wide or immature apices: a review. International Endodontic Journal 46, 483-91

Apart from Endodontics, Dr Kim loves trekking, skiing, scuba diving and travelling.
